Two pupils from North East schools have been chosen as the winners of La Petite Crêperie Competition, winning in-person workshops for 30 pupils from their school with La Petite Crêperie and ENACT at Newcastle University’s ilab on 7th March. 3,500 children from 33 North East schools participated in the competition, which is one of the many creative language and culture activities available free to schools as part of Express Yourself: North East Festival of Languages, which is running until the end of March.
“First and foremost, a huge “merci” to all and students who took part in our crêpe competition! We have been absolutely amazed by the enthusiasm, creativity, and effort you all put into this challenge. We hope the children had as much fun creating their crêpes as we had discovering them!
We are delighted to hear that this competition sparked so much creativity and discussion in classrooms and even inspired students to cook their creations with their families! It was incredibly difficult choosing two winners, but congratulations to Sadie from Hexham Middle (Ma crêpe – left) and Alice from Marden Bridge (Une journée à la plage – below).
