The North East is Happy! 6000 children are performing the Festival song in different languages!

We are delighted that 75 North East schools and groups have signed up to engage nearly 6000 children in performing the Festival Song, Happy by Pharrell Williams. All the resources are available now, free on Charanga, including English, different foreign language versions and BSL. Pupils will be singing, signing, playing instruments as part of one of favourite large scale Festival participatory projects.

Performances can be recorded and shared with Music Partnership North, who lead on this Festival project, to be part of a regional video celebrating in song in many languages. The deadline has been extended to 28th March to enable as many schools and groups to send in their performances as possible. We can’t wait to share the regional video after the Festival.

Thank you to our partners at Music Partnership North, the other regional music services and hubs, Charanga, International Newcastle and Newcastle City Council for all your support.
