Spanish Day for Teachers (primary, secondary, FE, HE) 9.15am-3pm on Saturday 14th March 2026 at Newcastle University
The Spanish Embassy Education Office (Consejería de Educación), Newcastle University and Junta de Castilla y León invite teachers and future teachers of Spanish (primary, secondary, university and further education) to attend the Spanish Day for Teachers in Newcastle on 14th March.
There will be presentations and workshops with practical and imaginative ideas for the Spanish class. A Spanish lunch will be served with a tasting of products from Castilla y León.
Registration is £15, but the event is free, places are limited.

- Teachers of Spanish and future teachers from primary, secondary, further education and universities based in the North East of England (and other UK regions, if places are available)

What is the activity?
Spanish Embassy Education Office, Newcastle University, and Junta de Castilla y León are hosting this FREE event: “Day of Spanish in Newcastle” aimed at Spanish teachers and future teachers of primary, secondary, university and adult education. This is an in-person event at 9:15am-3pm on Saturday, March 14, 2026. This is part of a nationwide programme to support teachers of the Spanish language in the UK.

There will be presentations and workshops with practical ideas for Spanish class and free lunch.
The event brings together experts who will address key issues in the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language. Workshops will very practical and participative and will offer tools and ideas to use in class. as well as information on studying modern languages in the United Kingdom.
This year’s event includes practical workshops, creative approaches to teaching and assessment, AI applications in the ELE classroom, networking opportunities, a tasting of products from Castilla y León and a prize draw for attendees.
This will be a popular event, so early booking is recommended.

Teachers and future teachers of Spanish should register for the event.
Places are limited (on a first-come, first-served basis).

You will receive an email confirmation of your place at the event. If the event is fully booked, there will be a waiting list, in case places become available nearer the time. Venue details are included in the programme with a map – the event will take place in the Henry Daysh Building. Detailed directions will be sent to all those with confirmed places
