What is the activity?

This event provides a unique and exciting opportunity for pupils in the North East. They will experience learning German in a fun, exciting way, with a live band, made up of musicians, educators and artists, who are experienced in delivering these activities to children and young people.

The programme is designed to provide the maximum level of interaction, learning and enjoyment for pupils. Teachers will also benefit from the event and can access a wide range of free materials in advance, as well as professional development afterwards.

The free programme for schools includes:

  • Warm-Up Workshop for Students (approx. 45 min)
Before the concert, students will rehearse choruses, melodies, and choreography directly with the band. This hands-on session ensures everyone is ready to sing, move, and participate during the show.
  • School Concert (approx. 1 hour)
A high-energy live concert designed for up to 300 students, where language meets music in the most exciting way. With preparation materials like lyrics and worksheets provided in advance, students will be ready to sing along and experience German through music, movement, and fun.
  • Online Teacher Workshop (45 min)
After the event, all participating teachers are invited to sign up for a virtual professional development workshop led by a certified DaF (German as a Foreign Language) trainer.
    • Focus: Using music, beatboxing, dance, and drawing to creatively teach phonetics, grammar, and vocabulary
    • Open to all teachers involved in the event
