Celebrating Bengali culture, language and heritage: 10-12 on 26th March with Newcastle Bangladeshi Association

North East Primary Schools have the opportunity to celebrate richness of Bengali culture, traditions and language.
Children will join in a carousel of interactive cultural activities to explore and celebrate Bengali culture and language with Newcastle Bangladeshi Centre.

Who is it for?
The event is open to teachers and children from primary schools in Newcastle, Northumberland, North Tyneside, South Tyneside, Gateshead, Sunderland and Durham.
When will it happen?

- 10-12 on 26th March at Newcastle Bangladeshi Association (246-248 Elswick Road, Newcastle NE4 6SN)
- Places will be booked directly with the Centre to manage visitor groups and ensure safeguarding procedures.
What is the activity?
The Bangla Day event will be an opportunity to share and celebrate Bangladeshi culture, language and traditions with primary school children and teachers.
This community-led event is being delivered by the Newcastle Bangladeshi Association, which has been established for over 40 years in the city.
There will be a carousel of interactive experiences at the centre to delight and engage children.
They will learn some Bangla language and learn about the Bangladeshi community in Newcastle and about Bengali traditions and culture.

Registration is required to attend this event.

- the name of the activity (Experience Bengali Culture 26th March)
- the name of your school
- the lead contact and email
- the age and number of children who you would like to attend
Confirmation emails will be sent to those who have places with details about the venue, transport and parking.

The Newcastle Bangladeshi Association (NBA) is a charitable organization that has worked for the last 40 years in Newcastle upon Tyne. They work in partnership with local communities and stakeholders to advance education and to provide facilities for social welfare, including investing in developing community hubs.
NBA seeks to empower the local community, including deprived and vulnerable people, through the provision of sports, education, health, religious and cultural activities.
They also deliver a range of events and activities throughout the year, including Muslim and Bengali celebrations.
